Import your customers
Bring existing customers in from a spreadsheet.
- Save your customer list as a CSV (Excel or Google Sheets: File > Download / Save as > CSV). The first row should be the column names. Up to 5,000 rows at a time.
- Go to Contacts and press Import (owners and admins).
- Choose the file. Gearloom guesses which column is which (name, email, phone, address, vehicle, notes); check and fix the matches, and look at the preview rows.
- Choose whether they come in as Past clients or Leads, and what to do with anyone who's already a contact (same email or phone): leave them, or fill in details they're missing.
- Press Check the file to see how many will be added, how many are already contacts, and which rows can't be imported and why. Then Import.
Each contact needs a name, and an email or a phone number. Imported customers aren't sent anything automatically and aren't signed up for marketing emails.
