Connect Mailchimp

Gearloom copies your contacts into one Mailchimp audience and brings changes back, so someone who unsubscribes in Mailchimp is marked unsubscribed in Gearloom too. About 10 minutes.

1. Create a Mailchimp account at mailchimp.com if you don't have one. The free plan works.
2. Find your audience ID. In Mailchimp, Audience > All contacts > Settings > Audience name and defaults. Copy the Audience ID (letters and numbers, like 1a2b3c4d5e).
3. Create an API key. Click your profile picture > Profile > Extras > API keys > Create a key. Copy it; it ends in something like -us21, which is your server prefix.
4. Paste them into Gearloom. Settings > Integrations > Mailing list (Mailchimp): the API key and the Audience ID. The server prefix is read from the key, so leave it blank unless we ask for it. Save.
5. Bring unsubscribes back. In Mailchimp, Audience > Settings > Webhooks > Create new webhook. Callback URL: https://app.gearloom.app/api/webhooks/mailchimp. Tick Subscribes, Unsubscribes, Profile updates and Cleaned address, and save.
6. Run the first sync from the Mailchimp card in Settings. After that, new enquiries are added as they arrive; press sync again whenever you want other changes copied across.

Only people who agreed to hear from you should be marketed to; imported contacts are not signed up for marketing emails.
